How You Can Help
MAKE A DONATION TO ESS:

One of our biggest goals since ESS began in 2005 was to someday have a permanent home where we can build an indoor arena and provide therapeutic riding lessons and equine-assisted therapy programs year round.

We are very happy to announce that we did it!!! We raised $125,000 towards the purchase price of the property that we had been renting since January 2008. We completed the purchase in May 2015 and now we are paying mortgage payments instead of rent! We are excited and happy about this and looking forward to many more wonderful years here. In the coming years we will be working on grants and funding to pay off the mortgage and build an indoor arena. In the meantime, we have many smaller projects and improvements that we'd like to make.

Gift certificates to local merchants are a great way to donate! We regularly purchase supplies at these stores:
Blue Sky Feed, Ace Hardware, Smith's Grocers, Albertson's, Olguin's Lumber.

We also got a manure spreader, arena drag and blade with the tractor. It has made our workload way more manageable!

SPONSOR AN ESS EQUINE
Sponsorship for the donkeys, ponies and mini's is $75/month; all others $150/month. This covers their basic feed, hoof care and deworming expenses. As long as this agreement is in effect, sponsors have first choice for adopting the equine identified above if and when he/she becomes available for adoption, and if it is in the best interests of the equine, as determined in the sole discretion of ESS. This agreement may be terminated, either orally or in writing, by either ESS or the sponsor at any time. NOTE: not all these are available for adoption. Some are retired here at ESS or are used for ESS programs, and still need sponsorship, but are not seeking new homes.

Volunteers Wanted!
Volunteers welcome to help with horse care, cleaning, programs, etc. at ESS. Join the wonderful volunteers who help make things happen for our horses, our kids and our programs! Help is needed in all areas, including office work. Lots of outdoor work, indoor work, horse work, special events - if you have a talent or skill to share, we most likely need it! No horse experience necessary. We will teach you how to scoop poop, brush horses, and everything in between. E-mail or stop out.

We mostly need help on our open days, which are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

If you are interested in assisting with the equine assisted activities with disabled persons, volunteers are needed during the summer/fall months for the therapeutic riding program. Call or email for details.

Support ESS with your purchases from amazon.com and help ESS! Go to smile.amazon.com and select Equine Spirit Sanctuary for your designated charity.

If you are interested in volunteering your time to help with our activities, or if you have materials or supplies to donate, or would like to make a contribution towards purchase of any of the items needed, please email:
